1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Echo mobile application (“App”) provided by the developer identified on the App Store listing (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

2. The Service

Echo helps you create fictional practice chat personas and converse on-device. Replies are generated locally using machine learning models you choose in Settings. The App is not a substitute for professional counseling, therapy, legal advice, or emergency services.

3. Subscriptions (Echo Plus)

Echo Plus is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID. Features may include unlimited practice personas and the ability to import local chat screenshots for on-device OCR, as described in the App. Pricing, trial length, and billing period are shown at purchase and in your App Store subscription settings. You can cancel or manage renewal in Apple’s Account Settings. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the current period.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to harass, threaten, or impersonate real people without consent, or for any unlawful purpose. You are responsible for content you enter and for complying with applicable law.

5. Third-Party AI Models and Licenses

The App may download and run third-party language model weights to your device (for example, from Hugging Face “mlx-community” repositories). At the time of writing, optional models include:

• Meta Llama 3.2 1B Instruct (4-bit), e.g. mlx-community/Llama-3.2-1B-Instruct-4bit. Llama materials are subject to Meta’s Llama Community License Agreement and related policies, including acceptable use requirements. Meta and Llama are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc.
• Alibaba Qwen 2.5 1.5B Instruct (4-bit), e.g. mlx-community/Qwen2.5-1.5B-Instruct-4bit, made available under the Apache License, Version 2.0.

We do not claim ownership of these models. Your use of model outputs may be subject to the licensors’ terms. We are not affiliated with Meta, Alibaba, or Hugging Face except as needed to distribute weights to your device per their platform terms.

6. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. AI outputs may be inaccurate or inappropriate. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM LIABILITY FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, AND FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a new “Last updated” date in the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
