- Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how the Echo mobile application (“App”) handles information when you use it.
- Data Stored on Your Device
Personas, messages, memories, and model cache files are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. We do not operate a server that receives your chat content for training or profiling in the App’s default configuration described in the App Store listing.
- Photos and Screenshots (Echo Plus)
If you subscribe to Echo Plus and choose to import chat screenshots, images are processed on-device (for example, using OCR) to help build memory text. We do not upload those images to our servers as part of the App’s core functionality.
- Subscriptions and Payments
Purchases and trials are processed by Apple. We receive limited information from Apple related to subscription status (for example, transaction identifiers) as needed to unlock features. Apple’s privacy policy applies to payment processing.
5. Model Downloads
Model weights may be downloaded from third-party hosts (such as Hugging Face) to your device cache. Those transfers are governed by the respective platforms’ terms and privacy policies. Your conversation text is not sent to those providers for training through the App’s on-device inference path.
- Analytics and Crash Data
Unless separately disclosed in the App or App Store privacy details, we do not collect analytics or crash data beyond what Apple may provide to developers through standard App Store tools.
- Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). Do not use the App if you are not old enough to consent to data processing where you live.
8. Third-Party Models
Optional third-party models (such as Meta Llama and Alibaba Qwen weights distributed via mlx-community) are subject to their licensors’ licenses and notices. See the Terms of Service for a summary of model attribution.
- Changes
We may update this Policy by changing the “Last updated” date in the App.
